Citrosuco Lake Wales Plant, Florida

Citrosuco is the largest orange juice company in the world. The Brazilian company acquired this Lake Wales plant in 1997, to give them a better foothold in the North American market, from which they were otherwise shut out by stiff tariffs. They immediately expanded capacity to process oranges from 11 million boxes to 30 million boxes per year, with a corresponding increase in aseptic refrigerated storage tanks for both concentrate and juice. Elsewhere in Florida, Citrosuco operates a berth at Port Manatee in Tampa Bay, as well as a fleet of four refrigerated ships, and a terminal at the Port of Wilmington, DE, to serve the North East and Canada.
