Florida’s Natural Lake Wales Plant, Florida

Florida’s Natural is the third largest orange juice maker in America, with a 21% share of the not-from-concentrate (NFC) market. Unlike its competitors Tropicana (owned by Pepsi) and Minute Maid and Simply Orange (owned by Coca-Cola), Florida’s Natural is an agricultural cooperative, with farmland, processing, and bottling plants owned by more than 1,000 individual Florida growers who together cultivate more than 50,000 acres of citrus. The Lake Wales facility can juice eleven million pounds of fruit every twenty-four hours, which is stored in refrigerated tanks on site before being sent to Florida’s Natural’s packaging plant in Umatilla, Florida. There is a visitor center across the street from the plant.
