Fort Moore, Georgia

Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning), is known as the home of the U.S. Army Infantry. These 182,000 acres of wooded and muddied ground serve as training and maneuver areas for the infantry. One of the busiest military bases in the country, around 35,000 people work full time at this base, which accommodates thousands of trainees every day. Also located here is the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (formerly known as the School of the Americas), which trains Latin American military and paramilitary forces in advanced American ground-fighting tactics, counterinsurgency strategies, and enhanced interrogation techniques, among other things.
