Fountain Hills Fountain, Arizona

What was once the tallest fountain in the world, is suitably, in one of the most arid cities in the United States: Phoenix, Arizona. The fountain shoots eight tons of water as much as 560 feet in the air (70 feet higher than the Washington Monument), at the rate of 7,000 gallons per minute, though it does not operate continuously. It is the signature element of a master-planned residential community called Fountain Hills, built by McCullough Properties. McCullough also built Havasu City, with the London Bridge as it's monument, and a number of other desert subdivisions.
