Hurlburt Field, Florida

An installation within an installation, Hurlburt is home to the Air Force Special Operations Command Center, located on a 6,634 acre auxiliary field within the 724 square mile restricted perimeter of Eglin Air Force Base. The unit stationed here specializes in counterinsurgency and psychological operations in low intensity conflicts, combat air traffic control, pararescue, and tactical weather analysis, tasks which require uniquely modified equipment and special training. Special Operations has been involved in activities such as the clandestine penetration of enemy territory, to projecting loud sounds and music at Manuel Noriega's hideout.
