Hurtubise Farm House, Vermont

The Hurtubise cattle farm is on the international boundary, and members of the family live in a farmhouse that is split nearly exactly in half by the line. In the living room, for example, facing the television, his chair is in Canada, and her chair is in the USA. Behind the house is a border boundary marker, next to the barn, suggesting that a few inches of the barn extend into Canada. Beyond it the cut-line can be seen heading over the mountains to the east.
