McDermott makes offshore production facilities, pipelines, power plants, and other energy infrastructure. From its origins as a marine contractor in the marshlands of Texas and Louisiana, McDermott now has more than 20,000 employees, making some of the largest offshore oil platforms in the world. In addition to oil and gas well and pipeline engineering, the company is a major nuclear engineering services company, primarily through their Babcock and Wilcox subsidiary. Its two building corporate headquarters is located just off Interstate 10, in the Energy Corridor area.
