Old Mormon Print Shop Museum, Michigan

Originally built in 1850 to serve the printing needs of King James Jesse Strang and his followers, the building now houses a local history museum, overseen by the Beaver Island Historical Society. The museum has a room devoted to the story of James Jesse Strang, who managed to lure a gaggle of Mormons away from Brigham Young to this island in Lake Michigan, where he was crowned king of his people, whom he then ruled from 1848 until 1856, when he was assassinated.
