One World Trade Center, New York

One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower, was built to replace the old World Trade Center destroyed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks of 2001. By some ways of measuring, it is the tallest building in the nation, 1,776 feet if measured to the tip of its spire, they say, (in fact though it is even taller than that, 1,792 feet, to the top of its spire). But the height of a building should really be measured to its roof, not its spires, in which case One World Trade Center is 1,368 feet tall (exactly the same height as the original 1970 World Trade Center), and is surpassed in height by at least two other buildings in the USA.
