Riverside Cement Company, California

The Riverside Cement Company plant at Oro Grande is one of several large cement plants in the desert connected to a mine via a railway, conveyor system, or roadway. These plants supplied the material to build Los Angeles. This plant, which was originally built in 1915, is on Route 66 outside Victorville. There is a big pit behind the plant. The mexican-based concrete company CEMEX USA, is one of the largest concrete companies operating in the USA, and is the current owner of this plant.
