Riverside Cement Company, California

The Riverside Cement Company plant at Oro Grande is one of several large cement plants in the desert connected to a mine via a railway, conveyor system, or roadway. The plant, which was originally built in 1915, is on Route 66 outside Victorville. There is a big pit behind the plant. In 2013, CEMEX USA, the current owner, announced the upcoming installation of multiple GE wind turbines in the hope of reducing the plant's CO2 emissions.
