San Gorgonio Pass Wind Array, California

The 2,000 or so windmills on these twelve square miles of land, located in the northwestern portion of the Coachella Valley, produce enough energy for around 300,000 homes. Though an impressive site, it is actually the smallest of the three major wind arrays in California (others are at Tehachapi Pass, and Altamont).
