Tallest Tower, North Dakota

At 2,063 feet tall, this cable-stayed television transmitter tower may be the tallest man-made structure in the United States. It has been called the third tallest structure in the world, following a radio mast in Poland which was 2,120 feet tall (until it lost its top portion in an accident during renovation work in 1991), and the Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai, which was completed, and is 2,722 feet tall. The North Dakota tower was built in 1963 by the KVLY-TV station, owned by a subsidiary of the Polaris Corporation.
