Cropland, farming, animal husbandry, food production, forestry, ranching; the cultivation of flora and fauna from the earth is among the largest land uses in the country, and among the most important to consider, as we are what we eat, at least to some degree. Since the agricultural landscape is largely composed of uniform blankets of prairie, fields, forests, ponds and oceans, one way to explore it is through its concentration points - the facilities for the companies that plant, harvest, process and manage the agricultural bounty of the nation.
