Erosion and Decay
Landscape change is due largely to erosion, the gradual breaking down of landforms into small particles which seek the lowest energy state. And counteracting erosional decay are the building forces—the forces that pile things up—such as tectonics, and the human agents of landscape change such as architecture, drainage control, landscaping, and paving.
