Regional Research Programming

CLUI Wendover regional research programming continues to focus on the Great Salt Lake, and extends beyond the watery shores into the surrounding Bonneville Basin. Areas of special interest include the evaporation ponds, canals, impounded bays, and the other bodies of water in and around the flat landscape that was once the bottom of the ancient pluvial Lake Bonneville.

Some research projects might be aided by the Great Salt Lake Exploratory Platform (GSLEP), a floating habitat and workspace that enables extended stays on the watery fringes of the lake.

Proposals for creative interpretive projects engaging this environment and its phenomenology (for the April-November 2018 season) are being considered up to March 1, 2018.
