This storefront in the Palms district of Los Angeles was built in 1948, as a “store+dwelling,” according to the building permit issued to its owner, a Mr. Frank Morris, who lived a few blocks away, and who was the contractor for its construction. The 24-foot by 52-foot long stucco-coated building had two front doors and two large glass windows letting light into the offices in the front, and a two-bedroom apartment in the back. By 1959, when it was listed for sale and photographed, the building was a real estate office for Fred Deming, who was also the listing agent. In 2002 it was purchased and turned into the Duncan Miller Gallery, specializing in Fine Art Photography. The gallery relocated to a new space at Bergamot Station, in Santa Monica, in 2012.
