One of two major uplink facilities in the USA for DirecTV is located in Marina Del Ray, on the west side of Los Angeles. DirecTV is the nation’s largest direct from satellite television service provider, with 35 million subscribers. It came out of the Hughes satellite company, and is headquartered in the former Hughes satellite complex next to LAX, in El Segundo (most of which is now Boeing).
