DirecTV, the nation’s largest direct satellite TV company, operates one of two of its primary uplinks at its earth station in Castle Rock, Colorado, midway between Denver and Colorado Springs. The company is based in El Segundo, California, and has launched 17 satellites since 1993, many of which have already been retired. A second teleport at the site is owned by Intelsat.
