After Intelsat was privatized in 2001, it was able to purchase its former rival, PanAmSat, in 2006, acquiring its teleports, such as this one, in Castle Rock, Colorado. The facility is located on the southern half of a large satellite communication station, whose north half is now DirecTVs principal network hub and teleport.
