Adelphi Laboratory Center, Maryland

This facility is the headquarters for the Army Research Laboratory, the Army’s corporate research entity (similar to the Navy’s Naval Research Laboratory). It has its primary site at the Aberdeen proving Ground, and has other sites at the White Sands Missile Range, in New Mexico, NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Ohio, the Langley Research Center in Virginia, and it operates the Army Research Office, in the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, where it helps to fund research projects. The Adelphi Lab Center is located adjacent to the former Naval Ordnance Lab at White Oak, and the Army has several remote test facilities in the woods adjacent to the former technical areas of White Oak.
