Airburst Range, Fort Carson, Colorado
The Airburst Range is on the expansive training grounds of Fort Carson, one of the largest Army bases in the country, located in Colorado Springs. Airburst has more than 30 scorable bomb targets and low angle strafe targets. All are tactical bomb targets except T-21, which is the 300-foot Radius Conventional Circle. There is a simulated airfield, with revetments and vehicles and surface-to-air missile sites, and simulated munitions storage bunkers. Some targets are for night use, and are illuminated with lights in a cross shape. Used primarily for Close Air Support training.
