Augusta Paper Mill, Georgia

Graphic Packaging’s plant in Augusta, Georgia, is one of a few large paper mills operated by the company to supply paperboard and other materials for its packaging products.  The plant formerly belonged to International Paper, and is located next to another large paper plant, owned by Resolute Forest Products. Graphic Packaging International mostly makes small boxes out of paperboard for consumer food products like breakfast cereal and frozen foods. Based in Sandy Springs, Georgia, it has almost 20,000 employees, at 90 facilities around the world. Most of the facilities are converting plants, where paper made elsewhere is printed, cut, and folded, into products. Most of the plants are in the USA, including places like Battle Creek, Michigan, home of the Kellogg’s corporation, a major customer.
