Bothell FEMA Center, Washington

The Federal Emergency Management Agency built this site in the 1960s, with an underground bunker and communications complex. Located north of Seattle, it is one of ten regional FEMA emergency operations headquarters across the USA, and one of five that have a Mobile Emergency Response Detachment, which include truck-mounted emergency communications and electrical generating equipment. Washington State is located in FEMA’s Region 10, which includes Idaho and Oregon. The site is shared with an Army Reserve Center.
