Busch Barley Moorhead Malt Plant
Anheuser-Busch, the King of Beers, consumes a lot of barley, and operates this plant as part of the company’s Busch Agricultural Resources, LLC. The facility produces barley malt, which is shipped to its breweries on the east coast and Midwest. Busch operates a number of processing and storage facilities for its grains, which are grown mostly in Montana, Idaho, the Dakotas, and Minnesota. The Moorhead facility is a mile from the state line and Fargo, North Dakota. It processes around eight million bushels of barley a year (130,000 metric tons), which is used to make around two billion bottles of beer. The company produces a total of around 11 billion bottles a year.
