California State Prison Los Angeles County, California

The only State Prison located in Los Angeles County is this facility in the Antelope Valley, five miles west of downtown Lancaster. It occupies the southern half of a square mile block, and was designed to hold around 2,300 inmates, and generally houses more than 3,400. The north west corner of the square mile block has the Mira Loma Detention Center, a Los Angeles County facility that was used to hold immigration detainees for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), until its closure in 2012.
