Casa Pacifica, California
After President Nixon's resignation in 1974, he settled back in his birthplace of Orange County, in a coastal estate he had purchased in 1969, known as Casa Pacifica, inside the gated community of Cyprus Shores, in San Clemente. He lived there for several years, then in the 1980s he moved to New York, then to New Jersey. Casa Pacifica was recently on the market for $75 million. Over the 20 years he lived after his presidency he wrote ten books, often spoke publicly, visited heads of state, and worked on his memoirs, museum, library, and legacy, including the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, in nearby Yorba Linda.
