Castle Rock, Michigan

Castle Rock is a limestone plug that survived the last glacial period, and rises nearly 200 feet above the ground, with vertical sides. It was turned into a tourist attraction in 1928, and a staircase was built up its side, providing access to the top. It is still open to the public, operated seasonally, and owned by the same family, which has added Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statues to supplement the attractive qualities of the site.
