Castle Rock Teleport, Colorado

Two companies operate separate satellite communication facilities at this earth station midway between Denver and Colorado Springs. The southern part is operated by Intelsat, one of the largest satellite communications companies in the world. After Intelsat was privatized in 2001, it was able to purchase its former rival, PanAmSat, in 2006, acquiring its teleports, such as this one. It is one of eight teleports operated by the company in the USA. The larger, north facility is one of DirecTVs principal network hub and teleports. AT&T bought DirecTV in 2015. The company is based in El Segundo, California.
