Chrysler Toledo Assembly Complex, Ohio

This automobile production complex, located near Toledo, has made Jeeps since 1940, and continues to make them. It has been making vehicles since 1910, when it was operated by the Willy’s-Overland company, makers of the precursors of the Jeep. That building, initially a bicycle factory in 1904, was known as the Parkway Annex, and was demolished in 2007. The plant has grown over the years, and now has several buildings, divided into Toledo North and Toledo South. The South plants have made Jeep CJs, Wranglers, and Cherokees. Toledo North was built later, in 2001, to make the Jeep Liberty. It has more than 2 million square feet, and employs more than 6,000 people. It is one of five remaining assembly plants in the USA operated by Chrysler (now Fiat Chrysler).
