Dearborn Truck Assembly Plant, Michigan

The Dearborn Truck Assembly Plant is the official name for the modern Ford assembly facility, located at the historic River Rouge plant. The Dearborn Truck Assembly Plant is a modern 1.1 million square foot plant that replaced a larger plant that made Mustangs and other cars, but is now dedicated to producing more than 300,000 F-150 pickups a year. The F-150 Pickup, which has been made since 1948, has been the best-selling car in the USA for more than 35 years. The new plant, built in 2005, with its green roof and built-in tourist experience, occupies just a small part of Ford’s former River Rouge Site, much of which is now operated by other companies in the production of steel and related industrial goods.
