Denver FEMA Center, Colorado

The Federal Emergency Management Agency built this site in the 1960s, with an underground bunker and communications complex. Located on the south side of the Denver Federal Center, it is one of ten regional FEMA emergency operations headquarters across the USA, and one of five that have a Mobile Emergency Response Detachment, which include truck-mounted emergency communications and electrical generating equipment. Denver is located in FEMA’s Region 8, which includes Colorado, Montana, the Dakotas, Utah, and Wyoming.
