Denver International Airport, Colorado

Denver's much maligned $4.8 billion airport, opened in 1995. It was one of the largest civil works projects in American history. It covers 53 square miles, making it the largest airport in the United States by land area. Currently there are four separate solar photovoltaic arrays on the grounds, which supply the airport with around six percent of its power needs.
