Detroit Waste to Energy Facility, Michigan

One of the largest "waste-to-energy" plants in the country, this one handles 3,300 tons per day. Owned and operated by Detroit Renewable Power, which is an independent subsidiary of Detroit Renewable Energy (a consortium of renewable-energy generation and distribution companies formed in November 2010, that also includes Detroit Thermal, Hamtramck Energy Services, and Detroit Renewable Cooling).
