This is one of two paper mills on the upper peninsula of Michigan owned by the Verso Corporation. It opened in 1911, and now covers 2,000 acres, including its pulp mills, paper mills, and wastewater lagoons. It primarily makes specialty and graphic papers for magazines, books, and direct mail advertising, and employs as many as 885 people.
