Evadale Paper Plant, Texas

The Evadale Paper Plant primarily makes paperboard, used for packaging. The plant is one of more than a dozen in the USA owned by WestRock Paper, and one of several mills the company owns that also makes wood pulp, the raw material from which paper is made. WestRock, based in Norcross, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, was formed by the merger of two other large paper companies, RockTenn and MeadWestvaco, in 2015, two companies that, as their names suggest, were also formed by mergers. The company specializes in food packaging, including pizza boxes, as well as paper for labels, leaflets, and inserts. It is one of the five largest paper companies in the USA, and has more than 10% of the market.
