FMC Technologies is a supplier of oil well production and processing technologies, a specialist in elaborate systems to distribute and process oil and gas on the seafloor itself. The company's headquarters are located at its principal engineering and manufacturing location, on Gears Road, north of downtown Houston. FMC Technologies, with over 19,000 (2013) employees, is an independent company created in 2001, out of its parent company, the Food Machinery Corporation, called FMC, an industrial conglomerate focused on agricultural chemicals and machinery. The now separate FMC Corporation focuses on chemical products, and is based in Philadelphia.
