Ford Louisville Assembly Plant, Kentucky
One of two Ford Assembly Plants in Louisville (the other is bigger, and makes trucks), this plant opened in 1955, and covers 180 acres, with 3,154,173 square feet of inside space. It has employed 4,400 people, and has 20 miles of conveyors inside. Most Ford Edsels were made here, as well as Fairlanes, Galaxies, LTDs, Broncos, Ford Escapes, and Lincoln Corsair SUVs. It is one of eight or so Ford vehicle assembly plants operating in the USA.
