Ford Michigan Proving Ground, Michigan
35 miles north of Detroit is Ford’s primary proving ground, and one of the largest vehicle test facilities in the USA. It covers six square miles, and has more than 100 miles of roads, including a high-speed track, a rough roads/durability tracks, steep grades, vehicle dynamics area, a fire resistance facility, a 2.5-mile long straight track, and numerous support structures and buildings. Ford also operates a smaller test facility, the Dearborn Development Center, near its headquarters, and the Arizona Proving Ground, a hot temperature test track site.
