Ford Ohio Assembly Plant, Ohio
The Ford assembly plant in Avon Lake, Ohio, covers around 3,700,000 square feet of floorspace, and makes Econoline vans and the larger F-series trucks. It opened in 1974, and used to make Nissan Quests, Mercury Villagers, and other minivans. It is one of eight or so Ford vehicle assembly plants in the USA, which mostly make trucks and SUVs now. Smaller cars tend to be made in other countries and shipped to the USA.
