Gallatin Power Plant, Tennessee

The Gallatin Power Plant is a large coal-fired power plant, built by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in the 1950s. It is located in Gallatin, Tennessee, adjacent to the north bank of a bend in the Cumberland River, the source of its cooling water. The plant has four coal-fired units whose combined net output capacity is 1,256MW. Coal ash waste storage ponds take up most of the site.
