General Mills Headquarters

General Mills is a major food company that got its start milling grains and wheat in Minneapolis. Its headquarters is now in Golden Valley, a western suburb of the city. Its brands include Gold Medal four, Betty Crocker, Yoplait, Haagen-Dazs, and popular sugary cereals like Cocoa Puffs and Lucky Charms. It bought its largest local rival, Pillsbury, in 2001. It is a diversified company, and operated an Aeronautics and Electronics division, started during World War II, and which continued afterwards, building submersibles like Alvin, used to explore the Titanic, and high altitude balloons, which continue to be made by its former subsidiary, Raven, which is currently working on aerostats with Google and the military. General Mills is also established major restaurant chains like Red Lobster and Olive Garden, and owned the game company Parker Brothers for many years, which included the game Monopoly. It has around 50 food production plants in the USA, coast to coast. Its R&D center is located a mile north of the Headquarters.
