GM Arlington Assembly Plant, Texas

This is a major automotive plant for GM, on a 250 acre site. It opened in 1954, and was used to make airplanes too. It made Buicks, Oldsmobiles, and Cadillacs through the 1990s, and now mostly makes SUVs, such as the Tahoe, Suburban, and Escalade. It is one of less than a dozen vehicle assembly plants operated by GM in the USA. Another dozen or so have been shuttered over the years.
