The Grand Encampment Museum and Interpretive Center is in the town of Encampment, on the eastern side of the Divide, and is the largest attraction in this small community of 450 people. It has a reconstruction of part of the mining tram from the Rudefeha Mine, which was once the world’s largest, as well as lots of other interesting regional exhibits and historic resources. With all its reconstructed and relocated out buildings, they say it’s the second largest museum in Wyoming, after the State Museum in Cheyenne.
