Harvard University Depository, Massachusetts

A large archival site and book storage facility for Harvard University, located in Southborough, miles away from the campus. The building has almost 200,000 square feet of space, and includes a film vault. The 170 acre site, on a remote hilltop, at the end of a private road, was also home of the New England Primate Research Center, operated by Harvard’s medical school. This facility was closed in 2015, and some buildings have been removed, while other lab building remain, apparently unused.
