Hill Annex Mine State Park, Minnesota
This state park was established at a former underground and open pit mining site in the Mesabi Range, part of the 90 mile long Iron Range of northern Minnesota. The park opened in 1988, and maintains a number of the mining buildings, from the 1910’s and 1930’s. Underground mine tours are available. The Hill Annex Mine operated until 1978, and was the sixth largest producer in the state.
