Holden ICBM Launch Control Facility, Missouri

While there is a Minuteman Silo and Launch Control Center in South Dakota that has been preserved by the National Park Service, this is likely the only Minuteman missile launch control facility that has been excavated and is in private hands. While older ICBM silos, like the Atlas and Titans from the 1950s to the 1980s, have been converted to civilian uses, Minuteman ICBMs are still in service, and the 750 or so Minuteman silos and 75 underground launch control centers that have been decommissioned, were all back-filled, and the redevelopment of their subterranean facilities has been discouraged.
