Indian Head Resort, New Hampshire
Indian Head is a geographic feature that, to some, resembles an Indian’s head. It has been recognized and featured as such since the early 1800s, and is one of two “anthropogeomorphological attractions” in the heavily touristed Franconia Notch region of the White Mountains, home of the more famous Old Man of the Mountains (which collapsed in 2003). The Indian Head Resort was developed more then a century ago, located directly on Highway 3, with a good view of the Indian Head landmark, from its parking lot, or from its hundred foot tall viewing tower. Indian Head is also known as the summit of Mount Pemigewasset.
