Iowa Minnesota South Dakota Tripoint, Iowa
This is one of 35 points in the USA where three state lines meet on land (another 27 are in water). This point, where Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota meet is one of the few that is on a public road, and has a monument. The tripoint was set by surveyors in 1859, and the monument built sometime after that. It was damaged by vandals in the early 1900s, and restored in 1938. Then it was damaged by a vehicle in 1979, and rebuilt further off the road in 1981. The actual point is in the middle of the road, and is marked with a small brass pin.
