Jackson Paper Mill, Alabama
This paper mill on the Tombigbee River in Jackson, Alabama, is one of a few large mills that were acquired by the Packaging Corporation of America when it bought the pulp and paper division of Boise Cascade, in 2013 (Boise Cascade is still active in wood products, but not paper). The Packaging Corporation of America, which once owned Office Max, is a paper products manufacturing company primarily making packaging for consumer products like foods, and corrugated boxes. Based in Lake Forest, Illinois, the company was named in 1999, but existed before that as Tenneco Packaging, It has 6 containerboard mills, 2 white paper mills, and more than 90 converting plants, where printed containerboard is cut and folded into packaging products.
