Keewatin Taconite Operations Plant, Minnesota

This mine and plant operation, known as KeeTac, is owned by US Steel, and supplies taconite to its Great Lakes Works steel mill near Detroit, its Granite City Works in St. Louis, as well as its large plant at Gary, Indiana. The KeeTac operation was idled in 2020. It is one of three US Steel taconite operations in the Iron Range.
